Foothold ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and services.

• Daily Check-Ins: Mood ratings and optional notes about how you're feeling
• Mission Data: Completed daily missions and streak information
• Journal Entries: Personal reflections and accomplishments you choose to record
• Win Tracking: Daily wins and career accomplishments you log
• Rejection Emails: Text you provide for AI-powered reframing (not stored permanently)

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

• Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version
• Usage Data: Features used, time spent in app, engagement patterns
• Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics to improve our service
• Crash Reports: Technical diagnostic data if the app crashes

1.3 Information from Third Parties

• Employer Codes: If your employer provides a promo code, we receive your company name
• Payment Information: Managed by Apple/Google (we never see your credit card)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide daily missions personalized to your mood and progress
• Generate AI-powered features (rejection reframes, interview prep, resume bullets)
• Track your progress, streaks, and accomplishments
• Send push notifications for daily missions (if you enable them)
• Improve our app based on usage patterns
• Provide customer support
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Information Sharing

3.1 Service Providers

We share limited data with trusted service providers:

• Firebase (Google): Hosting, authentication, database, and cloud functions
• OpenAI: AI features (mission generation, rejection reframes, WorkWorth exports). Data is sent anonymously and is not used to train their models.
• RevenueCat: Subscription management (handles payments through Apple/Google)
• Analytics Providers: Anonymous usage analytics to improve the app

3.2 Enterprise Customers

If you redeem an employer-provided promo code, your employer receives anonymous aggregate analytics only (e.g., "15 of 100 codes redeemed"). They do NOT receive your personal data, journal entries, or individual activity.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

4. Data Retention

• Active Accounts: Your data is kept as long as your account is active
• Deleted Accounts: All personal data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion
• Backups: Backup data is deleted within 90 days
• Anonymous Analytics: May be retained indefinitely for service improvement

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access Your Data: Request a copy of all data we have about you
• Export Your Data: Download your journal entries, wins, and mission history
• Delete Your Data: Permanently delete your account and all associated data
• Correct Your Data: Update or correct any inaccurate information
• Opt Out of Analytics: Disable analytics tracking in app settings
• Disable Notifications: Turn off push notifications at any time

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• All data transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)
• Passwords encrypted using industry-standard hashing (bcrypt)
• Access to data limited to authorized personnel only

• Firestore security rules to prevent unauthorized access

However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

Foothold is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

8. International Users

Foothold is operated in the United States. If you are located outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. By using our app, you consent to this transfer.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA:

• Right to know what personal information is collected
• Right to know if we sell or share personal information (we don't)

Our mobile app does not use cookies. We use Firebase Analytics to understand app usage patterns. You can opt out of analytics in app settings.

Our app may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their privacy policies.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes via:
